O destaque remixar” Will Be on the forthcoming” e  “In Your Nature” o single, lançado digitalmente  no dia  7 “por meio de 21 de fevereiro.

Zola Jesus, aka Nika Roza Danilova, isn’t really into remixes. And while many have asked to officially remake her tracks, she’s said no every single time. Until now.

“I feel like reinterpreting something can remove its context,” she told us earlier this week. “But when David Lynch asks to remix your song, you let him.” Listen to the drastic revamp of her Conatus track “In Your Nature”– featuring new instrumentation from Lynch and his engineer Dean Hurley– above. The remix will be featured on the forthcoming “In Your Nature” single, due out digitally and on 7″ via Sacred Bones February 21.

Danilova told us that she became aware of Lynch when she was 12 and watched a Korean bootleg of the director’s 1977 film Eraserhead. “I was horrified,” she said. A year later, she watched it again, was hooked, and has seen it countless times since. (Sacred Bones will reissue the soundtrack to Eraserhead on deluxe vinyl later this year.)

And while the singer didn’t have any direct contact with Lynch for this remix, she said that his creative influence can be felt in her work: “His movies challenge you not only from a visual standpoint but from a moral and philosophical standpoint, too, and we both use music to explore things that are difficult and uncomfortable.”

Could this remix lead to a Lynch-directed Zola Jesus video? “I don’t ask those questions, I’m too afraid,” Danilova said with a laugh. “I don’t want to set myself up for some crushing disappointment, but there are dreams, of course.”
